Brand New Everything, Full Speed Ahead
  • Brand Design Package
  • Web Design + Development
  • Studio Photography
  • Action Photography
  • Sponsorship

Seacoast Racing is Maine + New Hampshire’s newest cycling team, + not to brag, but we’ve worked with them since their inception. That means we got to give ‘em brand new everything – branding, web, photography + sponsorship + an addition to the team. Creating something fully from the ground up rather than a redesign or web design based for an existing brand with an established identity is such a fun creative process.

Matt + Meg connected through the seacoast cycling community, so it only makes sense that he came to us when he decided to start a team. Meg was happy to help out a fellow cyclist, plus on top of our work for them, she joined the team and made Recreative a team sponsor!

First up was the branding. While Matt had some ideas – he wanted the design to be as rooted in place as the name + he was thinking he wanted a wave somewhere in there – Meg pretty much went wild with her initial sketches.

She started with an anchor, the Piscataqua River Bridge, + the Memorial Bridge. All speaking to the sea + the NH-ME connection. We landed on the iconic Memorial Bridge with waves peeking up from the bottom. The colors were semi-influenced by the racing suit. While we had created a palette we were quite fond of, it didn’t really match the bright blue and pink of the kit. So, we adjusted the branding colors to match the suit.

We built the website around the team + events – the most important parts of a cycling team – as well as offering a section to highlight sponsors, offer sponsorship opportunities + give people a chance to sign up to join the team.

Meg did both action + studio photography for the team, taking headshots at their launch party + action shots at a cycling event. A nice change of pace after taking pictures of food + drink for years (with only the occasional living, breathing subject).

We’re so glad to be supporting Seacoast Racing in their inaugural season (+ of course, we’re cheering a little bit extra for Meg)!
