Stella’s Cafe, Dover NH

The owners of our favorite cafe downstairs from our office, Lil’s, and the most charming cafe on the New Hampshire seacoast, The Islander, just opened a new cafe called Stella’s in Dover, NH! reCreative is pleased to be working on their design elements including website, logo and menu design. 

For this project, we had a very short turnaround time. We didn’t know about this new place until the first week of April, but had a deadline for getting some type of website up and running by the 15th of April. Although the initial site we launched was pretty sparse, we were able to get an informational (and adorable) homepage designed and developed by the deadline while we continued to work on building out the rest of the site. 

We made a mood board based around a sort of vintage aesthetic and the bubbly personality of the cafe’s namesake, Lilian Stella Mangoes, to create something that everyone loved. Using this mood board, we designed the logo, website, and menu in the same retro aesthetic, making it feel fun and inviting to customers.

We also designed a cute logo option for them to add to the pile of possible choices. The logo was also completed in that two-week time frame, and we’re pretty proud of all we were able to accomplish so quickly. While our logo design didn’t end up being chosen, we were still able to use the work we did in the logo creation process to help us get a feeling for the rest of our designs. 

Our menu design features the same colors as the website, and is organized to perfectly guide customers to find exactly what they’re looking for. With different sections for different types of menu items (coffee, breakfast, etc.) clearly separated, this menu is super easy to navigate. The steaming coffee cups, highlight sections, and fun headers fit perfectly into the fun, bubbly, retro aesthetic we’re emulating.

So many people already love their two existing cafes, this new one is sure to be a hit! We are so glad that we get to be a part of their journey and help them make their digital presence perfectly reflect the warm and welcoming haven that Stella’s is.
