Our favorite cafe owners are opening another site! That’s right, the owners of Lil’s (located right downstairs from us in Kittery Foreside, ME) and The Islander (located in New Castle, NH), are opening a brand new cafe in Dover, NH called Stella’s! Can you tell we’re excited?
We learned about Stella’s in the first week of April, and the owners, Deb and Michael, told us they needed something up and running for a website by April 15th. In that short timeframe, we were able to get an adorable homepage designed and developed while we continued to work on the rest of the site.
A huge part of our design process is making mood boards before we start actually designing, so we made a retro, bubbly one for Stella’s, including a color palette and a logo design. Although our logo didn’t end up being the one the owners went with, they thought the rest of our mood board had the perfect vibes.
We were able to take that mood board and color palette and use it to design a menu and the rest of the site. Our aesthetic was based on this sort of vintage feeling and the bubbly personality of the cafe’s namesake, Lilian Stella Mangoes.
With an adorable, easy to navigate menu, brand new photography from yours truly, and the rest of the website design in the works, we’re so glad to be a part of this journey and we know this cafe is going to be a hit!
