Quarterly Recap: New Projects, Fresh Ideas, and Keeping it Local
Another quarter in the books, and it’s been a whirlwind of fresh ideas, big moves, and a whole lot of local love. We’ve been busy creating new brands, redesigning websites, and snapping photos that make people stop scrolling. From launching a coastal cafe to helping ARFID Dietitian sharpen her niche, we’re still doing what we do best—bringing bold, authentic stories to life. Take a look at the projects we’ve knocked out recently and what’s coming up in the next quarter. Spoiler: It’s all about making waves for small, local businesses.
June’s Cafe – branding + photograph + web
June’s is the newest sister cafe joining the Lil’s, Islander, and Stella’s family. We love working with Deb, and are so happy to see these cafes thriving in each community. For this project, we worked on the new cafe’s branding, website, and photography.
The vibe of this cafe was pitched to us as “coastal grandmother.” We landed on a deep red that pops against a tan color, complemented by black, white, and a charming pink. The fonts are rounded, offering that more old-school, comforting feeling.
We’ve also been working on their website, designing and building it from scratch to launch as their opening day approaches. While the cafes are all under the same ownership, they’re all unique and stand on their own. We wanted their sites to reflect their individuality, not depend on each other.
We also went in and photographed their menu for use on their site, socials, and menu (also designed by us) before they opened their doors. Although the kitchen was not yet ready, we went into Stella’s as the new staff of June’s was learning the ropes and photographed all their delicious sammies, bowls, and breads.
reCreative + Co – web + new focus
Entering our tenth year, we took some time to work on ourselves. We decided to focus on the things we love most: design, web, and photography. To go along with our new focuses, we also made ourselves a brand new website that reflects these changes (and it looks pretty dang good if you ask us).
ARFID Dietitian – rebrand + web
ARFID Dietitian, Lauren, came to us looking for a bit of a rebrand and web update. Previously known as Lauren Sharifi Nutrition, she wanted to zone in on her niche. When Lauren first started her business, she wasn’t as focused on ARFID, but in the years since, she has transitioned to working specifically with individuals with ARFID.
Her branding needed to reflect this change to help her reach her target audience more effectively. Her website was also cluttered and in need of an update. After providing her with new branding and guidelines, we were able to design and develop a new and improved website that gets straight to the heart of her work.
Moodra – photography
A relaxing scalp facial complete with aromatherapy and a massage? Yes, please. Niki Drucker from Moodra reached out to us looking for photography to help promote the opening of her new head spa inside the salon. We were able to photograph two treatments and the interior space – and we have to say, we were very pleased with how they came out.
Foraculture – web
Foraculture is a regenerative, architectural landscaping company located in York that needed a new, more manageable website. As they’ve learned from their plants, the only constant is change. They needed a site they could easily edit and update themselves. We created a SquareSpace site for them that puts their work center stage while allowing them some flexibility with customizable project galleries so they can make changes easily and as often as needed.
Coming Up
Looking forward to our next few projects, we’ll be starting off Q2 with Franey Landscaping, Flourish, and Planted. Franey Landscaping is a family-owned and operated, generations-old business that is ready to launch itself into the digital age. We’re creating a website for them in SquareSpace so they can add to it and make updates themselves as they get more comfortable with their online presence.
Treza from Flourish is looking for photos to use on her social media that highlight her expertise, and Catrina from Planted wants some shots of her cooking as well as the finished products. We look forward to these shoots (photo shoot days are our favorite days).
These upcoming projects are extra exciting for us because they’re all small, local businesses! Franey Landscaping operates out of York and Flourish and Planted are both in Kittery. We’re passionate about helping local businesses thrive, so we always jump on local opportunities.
