ReCreative + Co is honored to have won an award from the 61st Annual GDUSA In-House Design awards for our 9th birthday zine & mailers! This is so exciting for us because we loved every aspect of our birthday project, and had complete creative control over the entire process.
The GDUSA has been a prominent source of news and information for graphic designers and creative minds in the United States since 1963. This is our second award from GDUSA, following our win last year for our style guide.
For our *award-winning* birthday project, we created an adorable zine design with information about our company, hand-drawn designs throughout, and pictures from our past. After printing them out, we hand-folded them into the perfect little flip-through zines that they became and sent them out in custom mailers.
We also designed the mailers we used to send out the zines (and some goodies) to our clients. The fresh new design put those receiving it in the mail into a celebratory spirit while being so uniquely reCreative, there was no question about who the package was from.
One of the goodies inside was a custom party favor salt tin we created in collaboration with one of our clients, Slack Tide Maine. We were able to put our adorable birthday design right on the tin!
We’re so thankful to have won this award and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our lovely clients. They’re the whole reason we started the project in the first place! We felt that it was important to acknowledge all those who have helped us along this journey and stood by our side throughout the past 9 years.
