Supporting Soul Models in Their Efforts to Uplift Young Girls
We turned 10 in March, and instead of throwing a party, we’re giving some money away.
To celebrate a decade of reCreative, we’re donating to a handful of non-profits doing badass, meaningful work in our community.
First up: Soul Models – a mentorship program in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire and Southern Maine for teen girls focused on leadership, confidence, and compassion. They encourage girls to discover their authentic selves and rise above the gender expectations imposed by the larger society that they may feel limited by.
Soul Models provides young girls with a safe, supportive environment to explore their authentic voice and learn skills to increase their self-confidence. Through this after-school program, girls learn lifelong skills in creative expression, leadership development, stress-reduction techniques, and an ethic of service.
Their goal is to help these girls become not only leaders in their communities, but also confident and resilient soul models for the next generation. All of their work is guided by five pillars central to their mission: a present mind, a strong body, a positive spirit, a generous heart, and a nourished soul.
As a women-owned and operated studio, we’re big believers in what can happen when young women are encouraged to be curious, speak up, and lead with heart. Soul Models helps do exactly that.
We want to support programs and organizations that we believe in. This one felt like a no-brainer. Check out Soul Models’ website to learn more about all the good they do.
