Adding to the Family Tree: web design for The Greens at Greenwich

We are welcoming The Greens at Greenwich as a (sort of) new senior living client of ours. While we only just started working with The Green at Greenwich, we’ve worked with their sister community, The Greens at Cannondale, since our inception back in 2015. Cannondale was one of our first clients, in fact, so when Greenwich was looking to change their web design to better show their connection to Cannondale, we were more than happy to help.

They wanted to present The Greens at Greenwich side by side with The Greens at Cannondale, as two parts of one whole, rather than acting as separate entities. To help make it clear that the campuses are a unit, existing together + supporting each other, we redesigned the Greenwich website in the style of the Cannondale website. A more united visual presence helps reinforce their partnership + streamlines functionality from one site to the other.

One of the main reasons they wanted to make this shift from more distinct communities to a pair of communities working together was to show people interested in The Greens at Cannondale that The Greens at Greenwich is also available + associated with Cannondale. This connection creates a larger scope of care + tells Cannondale residents or prospective residents that if they ever need memory care after they move in, the Greens at Greenwich is here for them, making them feel more secure + prepared for the future.

Also, in terms of usability, we wanted to make updates to provide users with easier, more intuitive navigation throughout the site. These changes to the navigation menu + the addition of a few more pages will help people better understand the care they offer, hopefully leaving them more satisfied with the information they find. Adjusting the navigation menu makes finding what you’re looking for much easier, as it’s more intuitive with fewer things hidden. Adding pages also makes it easier to find what you’re looking for. Instead of guessing which page has information about events, there’s an events page dedicated to that info now. Easy peasy.

We also followed accessibility guidelines to ensure a smooth user experience across all devices + screen sizes, from desktop to mobile, something that’s important for every site, but especially senior living sites. Plus, we gave the page titles + descriptions a little update to better optimize for SEO. Having a lovely new website is only great if people land on it. By integrating relevant keywords into the titles + descriptions, more people will get sent to their site.

We’re grateful to The Greens at Cannondale (+ now The Greens at Greenwich) for our continued work together + are happy to still be helping them iterate + grow their online presence + usability for seniors as the digital landscape + industry change over time.
