Did you know that less than 1% of the 14,000 ad agencies that exist across the continent are owned by women? You might think that there would be more considering how many women go into marketing and graphic design, but the ownership and foundation of ad agencies is still largely male.

Not us though! We’re proud to be in that teeny tiny minority (although we do wish it wasn’t quite so exclusive a club). Our fearless Founder and Creative Director Meg Raiano started reCreative + Co back in 2015 and hasn’t looked back since. Although the road hasn’t always been smooth and easy, we’re proud of every obstacle we’ve overcome.

We’re also delighted that we’ve been able to have Raman Kaur, our wonderful Director of Development on our team for nearly half of our time as a company. As a woman herself, Raman says “I am proud to work at a women-owned company where diversity, inclusivity, and innovation thrive. It’s inspiring to be part of an organization that values and empowers women in leadership roles, creating a supportive and dynamic work environment for everyone.”

Women drive the majority of consumer sales, about 70-80%. Having women in charge of the things that impact us the most just makes sense. Why wouldn’t you want a strong female perspective when working on something that’s targeted towards women? As a women-owned and operated marketing company coming up on our 9th anniversary, we certainly think it’s the right move.

In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we wanted to shout out some of our incredible clients and the amazing entrepreneurial women behind these companies: Cold Current Kelp, Slack Tide, The Cookie Bar, OWIT Global, Repro Rights 360, and so many others. Thank you for making the way for other women owned businesses; we’re right here with you.

To all the women out there, we see you and all the hard work you do, and we congratulate you for it. To everyone else, go thank the important women in your life. I can assure you that they’ll appreciate being recognized by you for their efforts.
