Giiiirl… We did it.

Out of nearly 10,000 entries from 70 countries, one of our photographs was selected as a finalist in the “World of Drinks” category at the World Food Photography Awards. We landed in the top seven food and drink images of the year globally—and to be honest, we’re still letting that sink in.

The photo was taken for The Wilder, a cocktail bar in Portsmouth, New Hampshire that shares our love of storytelling through atmosphere and detail. We were capturing not just a drink, but a moment: the flicker of candlelight across a cocktail glass, the feeling of being tucked into a booth with something bold and beautiful in hand. That’s what we aim for in our work—images that feel like a memory, a mood, a full-body experience.

To have one of those moments recognized at the international level? It’s surreal. And it’s deeply personal.

This wasn’t just about submitting a nice-looking image. This was about putting forward a point of view—something built on years of exploration, from shooting dance performances in Connecticut in the early 2000s to photographing breweries, senior living communities, and cafes throughout the Seacoast. It’s about evolving from a kid running around with a point-and-shoot to a woman leading a design and photography studio that’s now been in business for ten years. It’s about grit, growth, and gut instinct. And it’s about our whole team, who sees the world through the same detail-obsessed, beauty-seeking lens.

If you happen to be in London this week, the photo is on display now through Sunday, May 25, at the Mall Galleries as part of the official World Food Photography Awards exhibition. It’s an honor to be showing alongside some of the best image-makers in the world—and a reminder that even a tiny studio in the woods of Maine has a place on that wall.
